Total Services Group were called to offer a solution to an asbestos-clad wall needing to be removed at a warehouse housing a substantial production line providing quality office furniture. The goal was removal and no disruption to the occupying production team.
Careful considerations regarding the presence of workshop personnel situated within the minimum 10m exclusion zone for non-friable asbestos removal works were considered, and the conclusion was that a 65m long, 5m high sealed buffer wall excluding the asbestos product from the workshop personnel was to be erected. Works were executed behind this buffer wall with constant air monitoring, ensuring the integrity of the worksite setup.
Works involved the removal and reinstatement of Colorbond cladding to the side of the warehouse, ensuring the site was secure and weatherproof at all times, involving security personnel and multiple clearance inspections as the process was worked through.
