Consequently, Total Services Group was contracted to facilitate the successful removal and disposal of over 900 cubic meters of soil contaminated with asbestos, PFAS, and hydrocarbons. The initial assessments and planning phase encompassed the formulation of a remediation action plan (RAP) to effectively remove hazardous materials in close proximity to hundreds of residential properties.
The project entailed facilitating access for large trucks to be carefully loaded, with minimal dust permitted to escape, thereby preserving clean air quality during excavation and handling of hazardous materials. Three teams from TSG were deployed onsite to meticulously line each semi-truck with 200um plastic. Strict supervision of works and meticulous dust control procedures were adhered to, ensuring that all waste was carefully transported to an EPA-registered waste facility for either treatment, reuse, or disposal. The project was conducted in a substantial suburban stormwater channel spanning approximately 1km in length.
Total Services Group’s team successfully completed the project through close collaboration with regulatory entities such as SafeworkSA and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Notably, the project involved hundreds of neighbours with zero complaints.
